There is no better way to start the day than with coffee, and a great looking, great tasting breakfast. So that is how I started this morning. The funny thing is that I did not even know Starlings existed and I went there with a friend who is staying at the Rondebosch Bed and Breakfast and she just loves it here. So I have been living in Rondebosch for the last 22 years, and did not even know some of these hidden secrets existed.

After doing a bit more research on Starlings it seems that quite a few people do know about it and it definately appears that way when they are full at 9am. The vibe is great, relaxed and homely and you can either sit inside the converted victorian home or outside in a beautiful tranquil garden. When driving past all you see is umbrellas outside, indicating that there is a coffee shop there , but nothing in comparison to stepping inside. Starlings has such a great charm, and the decor is simple and rustic.

I did find some beautiful photos here at  Lanalou Style and Kim Gray Style I did take some photos of the great coffee (Origin Coffee) and breakfast. It is reasonably priced, but you do get what you pay for. I had French Toast with Bacon, served with Syrup and it was delicious and my company had a plate of Scrambled eggs, bacon, tomato, mushrooms and toast which she loved too.

Service was fantastic and so friendly and relaxed. The coffee did take a little long to get to us there, but they were really busy and many other places being that busy would have taken much longer. I was also looking forward to the coffee which makes things take longer sometimes The food was served in great time too and I guess the ability to have a leisurly breakfast before work is great when you start work at 11am.

Also a Wifi Hotspot, and for me only a short walk from home so really what more could you ask for? I will definately be returning to this hidden gem, will you?
