About Indigogirl

As you can tell from most of my previous posts, I have always loved cooking and food and that is what I spend most of my time doing – cooking and eating (Glad it doesn’t show too much just yet!)

I always wanted to write a recipe book, and start a blog but my initial hesitation I came across over and over again was that I never enjoyed writing recipes and also did not have the time. So I started taking pictures of meals that I made and finally found the inspiration to start and took the plunge into the blogging world.

So my recipes may not be clear or complete but they are here to be your inspiration as my imagination is to me. Cooking has always been experimental, throwing a bit of this and a pinch of that and making it taste great, so again I do hope that this blog can be your culinary inspiration, whether you just look at the pictures or actually read what I ramble on about.

As much as food has been my passion from a young and tender age, believe it or not I do have other interests. One of those in a big way is Cape Town. Sometimes you meet people and they always think the grass is greener on the other side but for me, Cape Town is the greenest grass, and quite honestly I would not want to live anywhere else in the world.

My next love in life is the internet, social media and generally all things online. I work for a Search and social conversion agency and love what I do. There are so many people in this world who just drone on day after day working as a means to an end but for me I love what I do and enjoy work every day too. What a better way to spend the day doing things I love and of course getting paid for it. If I could combine these two passions – it would be a match made in heaven, which as a start, was also the reason for starting Indigogirl.

So many people in my life have asked me why I did not become a chef or enter into that field as a career and the answer is very simple. I love cooking, always have and always will and that passion would not be a passion anymore if I did it day in day out and for me the greatest tragedy in life would be the day I don’t want to cook anymore. So that said I do get to have my cake and eat it too– literally.

I do hope you enjoy reading these ramblings of mine as much as I love writing them, and enjoy experimenting with cooking as much as I do. I hope you find inspiration in these words and pictures as much as I have found inspiration in every day.
